Rebecca Gerstenlauer, M.M.Ed, violinist/violist/pianist, is a music teacher at Chattahoochee Elementary School in the Forsyth County school system since 2007, and maintains a large studio of piano and string students from around the North Georgia region. She was 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year for her school.  She has performed as concertmaster and principal violist of the North Georgia Chamber Symphony and in the Appalachian String Quartet. She was also the music-director and conductor of the North Georgia Youth Orchestra in conjunction with the North Georgia Chamber Symphony in Dahlonega, GA. She is the founder of the Chattahoochee String Orchestra, Chestatee String Orchestra Little Mill String Orchestra and the East Forsyth Youth & Community Orchestra. She also co-founded Laurel Ridge Music Festival, est. 2009, a summer chamber music festival for string and piano students.  Ms. Gerstenlauer strives to help implement an orchestra program into all the Forsyth County schools over the next few years through the newly founded United Forsyth Orchestra Fund sponsored by the North Georgia Community Foundation.
